BLONDE EXPERIENCE. It’s been months since my last visit to a salon since I gave birth, and last week I finally went to get my hair done! I went to see celebrity colorist Tracey Cunningham at the Meche Salon in Beverly Hills. Its been months since I’ve been able to take some time to pamper myself so I was looking forward to my appointment all week! When you have a newborn at home, things like hair appointments are like the best thing and can really complete your week or even month, hehe.
Just in time for summer, I went to get my highlights retouched so my hair has a smooth transition from my grown out roots to my blonde tips. Tracey agreed that doing more highlights all throughout my hair would be less damaging and a more natural feel. I love my new look, adding more highlights actually changed the overall look of my hair back to blonde, so I’m not complaining. I keep telling myself when it grows out I’ll go back to dark, but it’s sooo difficult to part ways with my blonde hair – I’m just not ready, I guess.
To maintain and protect my hair I’ve been trying out Redken’s Blonde Idol hair products and so far so good. Redken knows that no two blondes are alike so they offer customizable products to bring out the best. My favorite is the Blonde Idol Custom Tone Violet Conditioner, I love how I can adjust the dial that dispenses the violet color tone – which helps neutralize the brassiness. You can shop the products below:
I’m posting my before and after image so you can see how adding highlights can really change the overall look.
